Your whole troop can get into the action and start SWAPping while earning the Collecting Hobbies Junior Badge. 

Get it while you can! This "Bag" is being discontinued to make room for new "Badge in a Bags". The current Junior World Neighbors badge is being retired by GSUSA. Make sure to pick up your badges from the council store while they still have availablity.

LESS THAN 40¢ PER PROJECT
Kit contains supplies for a maximum of 12 scouts to do six activities. Order a "bag of extras" for troops up to 16. Order 2 full bags for troops of 17 or more.

If you are a Junior Girl Scout leader and would like to use this kit to earn your Collecting Hobbies Junior Badge here is our suggestion for fulfilling the requirements. Of course, it is not meant to infringe upon your own interpretation of the badge or the requirements printed in the badge book.

Requirement 1 - Building Your Collection
Kit makes a total of 144 SWAPs to divide up among your girls. You'll get felt, yarn, pins, doll pins, wiggle eyes, pipe cleaners and silk leaves. Allow a hour to make the SWAPs. You'll need your own scissors, glue and SWAP tags.

Requirement 2 - Share Your Collection
Make a lanyard to hold your pins while SWAPping. Kit includes lanyard and foamie circle.  Project will take about 5 minutes to complete. You'll need your own marker to write your name on the foamie oval.

Requirement 3 - Meet Other Collectors
Go on a event where you SWAP with other girl scouts. Use your SWAP bag to hold the SWAPs you made and pin the ones you collect to the outside rim.

Requirement 4 - Be an Expert
Learn about SWAPping and the history of SWAPs. Printed sheet included in bag to get you started. 

Requirement 5 - Organize a SWAP Event
Set up your own swap event or SWAP online.  

Requirement 6 - Organize Your Hobby
Make a turtle display to hang your SWAPs from. Kit includes precut foamie pieces, yarn and vinyl streamers. Project will take about 15 minutes to complete. You'll need your own glue.
