Sewing Badge in a Bag^®
Either stitching by hand or on a machine, these are great projects for beginning sewers.

Get it while you can! This "Bag" is being discontinued to make room for new "Badge in a Bags". The Sew Simple badge is being retired by GSUSA. Make sure to pick up your badges from the council store while they still have availablity.

LESS THAN 40¢ PER PROJECT
Kit contains supplies for a maximum of 12 scouts to do six activities. Order a "bag of extras" for troops up to 16. Order 2 full bags for troops of 17 or more.

The great thing about this "Badge in a Bag" is you can do it without or without a sewing machine. The only thing you'll need is scissors and a pencil... a sewing machine is optional!

If you are a Junior Girl Scout leader and would like to use this kit to complete your Sew Simple Junior Badge here is our suggestion for fulfilling the requirements. Of course, it is not meant to infringe upon your own interpretation of the badge or the requirements printed in the badge book. Since you will need your own fabric scissors, this "Badge in a Bag" is probably best done in stations or centers.

Requirement 1 - Hands Down
Learn four hand stitches. Kit includes illustrated instructions and supplies: Fabric, needle, thread. Project will take about 30 minutes to complete.

Requirement 3 - Decorate a Garment
Fancy buttons are included with the kit. The girls can sew them on to jeans or save them to decorate their eyeglasses case. Kit includes instructions and supplies: Needle, thread and buttons. You'll also need scissors. Project will take about 30 minutes to complete.

Requirement 6 - A Perfect Fit
Learn to measure and figure your pattern size. Kit includes instructions and supplies: Tape measure and personal size chart. You'll also need a pencil. Project will take about 10 minutes to complete.

Requirement 9 - Sew for Service
Make an eyeglasses holder to donate to your local nursing home or VA hospital. Kit includes instructions and supplies: quilted fabric, needle and thread. You'll also need scissors. Project will take about 40 minutes to complete.

Requirement 9 - Find the Fabric
Compare and contrast sample fabrics. Which ones do you like best? What would make out of it? Kit includes instructions and supplies: Eight fabric samples with labels and descriptions.

Requirement 10 - Sew a Vest for your Stuffed Bear
We figured that juniors needed something something more grown up then puppets! So this "bag" includes everything they need to make a felt vest for their stuffed bear. Fits most Build-a-Bear animals. Kit includes instructions and supplies: felt, pattern, needle and pins. You'll also need scissors and green thread. Project will take about 1 hour to complete.
