Get outside with your troop and have some fun exploring nature.

Get it while you can! This "Bag" is being discontinued to make room for new "Badge in a Bags". The Brownie Outdoor Adventure Try-It is being retired by GSUSA. Make sure to pick up your Try-Its from the council store while they still have availablity.

Kit contains supplies for a maximum of 12 scouts to do four activities. Order a "bag of extras" for troops up to 16. Order 2 full bags for troops of 17 or more.

Satisfy the "inner adventurer" in your Brownies! Take a bag along on your first hike or camp out for a terrific scouting experience for 12 girls (or boys!). Available with a "Bag of Extras" for leaders who like to make samples, have extra supplies on hand or to stretch your kit for four additional girls.

If you are a Brownie leader and would like to use this kit to complete your Outdoor Adventure Try-It here is our suggestion for fulfilling the requirements. Of course, it is not meant to infringe upon your own interpretation of the badge or the requirements printed in the Try-It book.

Requirement 1 - Dress for the Weather
Protect your face and eyes from the sun with a visor you decorate. Project will take about 20 minutes to complete plus the time for acting. Foamie visors and foamie insects included. You'll need your own glue and markers.

Requirement 2 - Sleep Out!
Make a beaded necklace with a flashlight and whistle for fun and safety on your camp out or hike.  Project will take about 15 minutes to complete. You'll need to provide a AA battery for the flashlight.

Requirement 4 - Day Hike
Use our magnifying glass and checklist to look for colors in nature. Color hunt will take about 15-30 minutes. You'll need to provide a pencil or pen.

Requirement 5 - Touch, Smell, Listen... and Look!
Use all your senses to discover the outdoors. On your hike look for pebble, leaves and twigs to include in your bug SWAPs. Bag makes a total of 36 SWAPs using foamie insects, mini zip lock bags and safety pins. You'll need your own pebbles, twigs and leaves. SWAPs will take about 20 minutes plus the time it takes to make the tags.
